The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has intensified its probe into the alleged NEET-UG 2026 exam paper leak by arresting an individual in Nashik, Maharashtra.
Shubham Khairnar, a 30-year-old local, was initially detained by Nashik police on the orders of Rajasthan Police and later taken into CBI custody. The arrest relates to the cancellation of the NEET exam after reports of irregularities during the paper leaked before the session on May 3.
The investigation uncovered a possible link to Latur, where a student's parent reported that 42 questions in a local coaching institute's mock test were identical to those in the actual NEET exam. The Latur police, led by Superintendent of Police Amol Tambe, are urging the public to help with information or evidence regarding this serious infraction.
