In a landmark announcement, Karnataka's Minister for Medical Education, Sharan Prakash Patil, revealed an allocation of 1,122 additional medical seats to the state, marking a significant stride in the region's healthcare educational infrastructure.
At a press conference at Vidhana Soudha, Patil stated that this allocation, which includes a substantial central government grant totaling Rs 1,090 crore, will help propel Karnataka to the forefront of medical education in India. Specific funding of Rs 495 crore is set aside for undergraduate studies, and Rs 541 crore for postgraduate studies.
This approval from the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare symbolizes a record achievement for Karnataka, providing aspiring medical students an unprecedented opportunity to excel in this field. The initiative will benefit multiple districts such as Koppal, Gadag, and Chamarajanagar, promoting widespread access to quality education.
