Admissions Halted for Underperforming Traditional PG Courses in Marathwada Colleges
Swami Ramanand Teerth Marathwada University suspends first-year admissions to PG traditional courses in 29 colleges due to poor audit performance. The decision was made following an Academic and Administrative Audit, which rated these colleges poorly. Swami Ramanand Teerth Marathwada University in Nanded has decided to suspend first-year admissions for postgraduate traditional courses in 29 of its affiliated colleges for the upcoming academic year 2026-27. This move comes after these colleges scored less than 40 percent, or 'F' grade, in the recent Academic and Administrative Audit.
According to an official statement, the university's circular specifies that any college defying this suspension will be held accountable for any student academic losses, which could include the cancellation of eligibility, non-processing of examination forms, and issues with hall tickets or results.
The suspension is specific to traditional postgraduate programmes while professional courses like pharmacy, law, and education remain unaffected. The comprehensive AAA evaluation revealed that out of 72 colleges assessed, the highest number of institutions, totaling 29, received the lowest 'F' grade.
Contributing to this decision was a collaborative meeting of the Academic Council and Board of Deans, guided by Vice-Chancellor Manohar Chaskar and Pro-Vice-Chancellor Ashok Mahajan, underscoring the university's commitment to maintaining educational standards.
