Nepaldeb Bhattacharya, a distinguished former Rajya Sabha MP and a key figure in India's Communist movement, has passed away in Kolkata. The 75-year-old was battling age-related health complications.

Bhattacharya, known for his tenure as the all-India general secretary of the Students' Federation of India (SFI) and a former member of the Communist Party of India's (CPI(M)) state committee, died at a private hospital.

His impactful political career spanned from 1981 to 1988 in the Rajya Sabha. He leaves behind a legacy marked by dedication to labor leadership and the political landscape. Bhattacharya is survived by his wife.
