The Dudhwa Tiger Reserve celebrated a record influx of 644 foreign tourists in the 2024-25 season, marking a significant rise from the previous year's count of 234. Officials closed the reserve for its annual monsoon break, which starts on June 15.

Deputy Director Rengaraju Tamilselvan reported a healthy increase in domestic tourist numbers, climbing to 56,729 from the past season's 50,961. The combined tourist activities generated over Rs 1.85 crore in revenue, up from Rs 1.39 crore the previous year.

Established in 1977, the Dudhwa National Park spans 490 square kilometers in Lakhimpur Kheri district. It serves as a sanctuary for various species, including tigers and swamp deer. The area was declared a tiger reserve in 1987 to further conservation efforts.
