Ranarnaba Deb, affectionately known as 'Thata Raja' and the younger brother of Gajapati Maharaja Dibyasingha Deb, passed away at the age of 67. Family sources confirmed his demise due to cardiac arrest at a private hospital, following a lengthy battle with multiple health issues.
Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi expressed his grief over Deb's passing. In a heartfelt message on X, he conveyed condolences to the bereaved family, urging Lord Jagannath to provide them strength and peace in this difficult time. Majhi's tribute also wished for Deb's soul to find solace.
Family sources announced that Deb's last rites are scheduled at the Swarga Dwar crematorium in Puri. The community mourns the loss of a cherished figure from the royal entourage, often remembered for his warm presence and dedication to the Puri throne.
