Andhra Pradesh is set to celebrate International Yoga Day on June 21 in Visakhapatnam, with grand ambitions of setting multiple world records. Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has called for a spectacular event capable of attracting global recognition and emphasized thorough preparations.
From 6:30 AM to 8:00 AM, a massive gathering of 25,000 tribal students will attempt Surya Namaskars for 108 minutes, aiming to achieve records for the largest group and the most participants performing yoga simultaneously. Elaborate arrangements have been made along a 26-km stretch from RK Beach to Bhogapuram, with the capability to accommodate 3.19 lakh people.
The event, themed 'Yoga for One Earth, One Health,' is backed by the 'Yogandhra' initiative, which fostered over 15,000 yoga competitions. Meanwhile, Naidu criticized opposition leader YS Jagan Mohan Reddy for allegedly instigating violence during his tours and advocated for peaceful resolutions and cooperation over water projects with Telangana.
