The North American Punjabi Association has issued an urgent appeal to the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) to protect the sacred 'saroops' of Guru Granth Sahib located at a gurdwara in Tehran, amidst the ongoing conflict in the region.
Satnam Singh Chahal, executive director of the association, called on the SGPC to arrange a chartered aircraft and ensure a group of dedicated Sikhs accompany the revered texts back to India with due respect. He emphasized that time is of the essence, warning against relying solely on the Union government.
The situation demands immediate action from the SGPC, a body with the resources and moral imperative to prioritize the safety of the sacred 'saroops' without bureaucratic delays that could prove detrimental.
