Former Indian cricket captain Sourav Ganguly has expressed his approval for actor Rajkummar Rao to portray him in an upcoming biographical film set to release in December 2026.
The shooting for the film is slated to commence in January, and Ganguly notes that while pre-production is time-consuming, filming will wrap up within roughly three months. Besides acting, the post-production process will also require significant effort.
In an interview with PTI, Ganguly, who amassed 18,575 runs during his cricketing career, explained his decision to stay off-screen, leaving the responsibility to Rao. While the director and title are still under wraps, Ganguly affirmed his readiness to support the actor in this cinematic endeavor.
