The AIADMK on Tuesday vehemently condemned a video clip released by Hindu Munnani, which allegedly depicted Dravidian stalwarts 'Periyar' E.V. Ramasamy and C.N. Annadurai unfavorably at a recent Lord Murugan devotees' conference held in Madurai.

Former Minister and senior AIADMK leader R.B. Udhayakumar stated that his party has consistently questioned and opposed any defamation or criticism directed at Dravidian icons like 'Periyar' and Annadurai. Though the alleged insult in the video may have originated elsewhere, Udhayakumar emphasized the AIADMK's commitment to opposing such affronts with determination and courage.

DMK leader R.S. Bharathi criticized the AIADMK for being "spectators to the insult," asserting that both the people and the state were outraged by the negative depiction of Dravidian icons. Bharathi further stated that historically, those disparaging such icons have failed to gain political traction in the state.
