Veteran actress Poonam Dhillon, well-known for her film career, is making waves in the political arena with her focus on social welfare. In a candid conversation with ANI, Dhillon criticized her fellow actors in parliament for neglecting the industry's concerns, highlighting a lack of advocacy that she sees as a missed opportunity.

Currently serving as president of the Cine and Television Artists Association (CINTAA), Dhillon expressed concern over the financial hardships faced by many actors in the industry. She pointed out that while top actors are compensated adequately, many others suffer due to delayed payments and lack of contracts, underscoring a need for legislative changes.

Dhillon, who transitioned into politics in 2004 with the BJP, emphasized that her entry wasn't driven by a lust for power but a desire to drive societal change. Her past work with NGOs, focusing on drug awareness and blind associations, fuels her commitment to legislation for social issues. Meanwhile, her acting legacy remains intact with notable performances and television appearances like 'Bigg Boss'.
