Delhi Ramps Up Support for Kanwar Yatra: 1,200 Free Electricity Units Offered

The Delhi government has announced plans to provide up to 1,200 units of free electricity supply to the Kanwar Yatra camps starting July 11. Power Minister Ashish Sood disclosed these arrangements after reviewing the preparations for the religious processions.

In an effort to support the Kanwariyas, the government will require only 25% of the usual security deposit for electricity meters at the camps. Grand receptions and necessary facilities will be arranged to cater to the devotees.

Chief Minister Rekha Gupta's administration is coordinating with relevant departments to ensure smooth operations and compliance with the law. Measures include funds via Direct Benefit Transfer and adequate security arrangements along the Yatra routes.
