The Indian Punjabi film 'Sardaar Ji 3', featuring Diljit Dosanjh and Pakistani actress Hania Aamir, has achieved an unprecedented opening weekend success in Pakistan. The film's PKR 9 crore earnings set a new record for Indian cinema in the country, surpassing previous Bollywood benchmarks.
Despite the controversy surrounding its cast due to India-Pakistan tensions, producers decided against releasing the film in India. Nadeem Mandviwalla, a well-known exhibitor in Karachi, remarked on the film's outstanding performance, highlighting the significant turnout despite adverse conditions.
Sardaar Ji 3's success breathes new life into Pakistan's struggling cinema industry, which has faced challenges due to a ban on Indian films since 2019. The film's release was made possible after it received clearance from Pakistan's censor board, underscoring the public's enduring appetite for quality cinema.
