Actress and politician Poonam Dhillon has opened up about her experience of pitching a film story to the late legendary filmmaker Yash Chopra. Dhillon revealed that the concept, which was eventually made into the movie 'Yeh Vaada Raha', was initially turned down by Chopra, who felt it wasn't suited for Indian viewers.
In an interview with ANI, Dhillon recounted how she was taken by a novel by Danielle Steele, titled 'The Promise', during a trip, which inspired her to propose the story to Chopra. Despite her enthusiasm, Chopra was skeptical about the film's potential reception, especially the central theme of plastic surgery and identity change.
Years later, however, the story was developed into 'Yeh Vaada Raha' by another director. While the film did not fare well commercially, Dhillon reflected that it had achieved an iconic reputation over time. The actress is best known for films like 'Noorie' and 'Trishul' and has also enjoyed success in television, notably appearing in 'Bigg Boss' Season 3 and the serial 'Ekk Nayi Pehchaan'.
