Adrian Grenier will not return to don the role of Nate Cooper, Andy Sachs's boyfriend, in the sequel to 'The Devil Wears Prada.' 20th Century Studios confirmed Grenier's absence as production commences on the anticipated sequel.
The 2006 cult film, based on Lauren Weisberger's acclaimed novel, charts the journey of Andy Sachs, an assistant to the formidable editor Miranda Priestly. Grenier's character, Nate, emerges as a contentious figure, initially supportive of Andy yet resistant to her career ambitions.
In a 2021 reunion interview with People, Grenier noted the controversial perception of Nate, remarking, 'All those memes that came out were shocking to me... He wasn't extending himself to support Andy in her career.' The sequel welcomes back Anne Hathaway, Meryl Streep, Emily Blunt, and Stanley Tucci, with Kenneth Branagh joining the fold. It is slated for a May 1, 2026, release, although an official date remains to be confirmed.
