All Systems Go for Amarnath Yatra: Security Tightens Ahead of Pilgrimage
The annual Amarnath Yatra commences, backed by comprehensive measures ensuring a secure pilgrimage. Jammu and Kashmir Chief Secretary Atul Dulloo reviewed arrangements covering security, sanitation, and accommodations. Pilgrims have begun arriving, with heightened security in place, as the pilgrimage kicks off from Bhagwati Nagar base camp on Wednesday.

The much-anticipated annual pilgrimage, Amarnath Yatra, is all set to commence with meticulous arrangements in place to safeguard the journey for thousands of devotees. Atul Dulloo, Chief Secretary of Jammu and Kashmir, confirmed the comprehensive security measures and reviewed the facilities at the Bhagwati Nagar base camp in Jammu.
The Yatra, spanning 38 days, will follow two traditional routes - the Nunwan-Pahalgam route and the shorter Baltal route. Dulloo's visit included a detailed inspection of boarding, lodging, community kitchens, and medical services, ensuring the comfort and safety of arriving pilgrims.
The lieutenant governor is scheduled to flag off the first group of pilgrims amid heightened security measures. Over 3,500 pilgrims have already arrived, ready to embark on this spiritual journey, driven by extensive ground preparations and coordination among various departments.
