President Murmu Kicks Off Van Mahotsav at AYUSH University Inauguration

President Droupadi Murmu inaugurated the Van Mahotsav festival by planting a 'rudraksha' sapling at the newly opened Mahayogi Guru Gorakhnath AYUSH University in Gorakhpur, which she also dedicated to the public on Tuesday. The event, marking the celebration from July 1 to 7, underlined the significance of environmental conservation and sustainable practices.

Built at a cost of Rs 268 crore in Pipri, Bhathat, the university is envisioned as a fusion of tradition and modernity, playing a pivotal role in promoting the scientific credibility and international recognition of Indian traditional medicine systems. Such efforts, Murmu asserted, will bolster AYUSH's global acceptance and strengthen India's soft power.

The occasion saw the presence of key officials, including Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. Additionally, UP Minister of State for Forest and Environment, Arun Kumar Saxena, inaugurated a "Triveni Van" in Lucknow, further enriching the Van Mahotsav festivities with the launch of an open gym and a yoga meditation center.
