Historic All-Women ITBP Expedition Embarks to Scale Mount Nun

An unprecedented all-women expedition by the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) took off from Delhi as the team set their sights on climbing Mount Nun, located in Ladakh.
The 29-member group, led by Assistant Commandant Bhanita Timungpi, was flagged off by ITBP Director General Rahul Rasgotra. The peak stands at an imposing 7,135 meters and is situated in the challenging terrains of the Union Territory of Ladakh.
This expedition embodies ITBP's strong commitment to fostering women empowerment and adventure spirit. The ITBP, comprising around 90,000 personnel, primarily secures the 3,488 km Line of Actual Control with China besides executing various internal security duties under the Union Home Ministry.
