Space Odyssey: Students Connect with Astronaut Shubhanshu Shukla

Students from Kerala and Uttar Pradesh had an extraordinary opportunity to interact with Shubhanshu Shukla, India's first astronaut to visit the International Space Station (ISS). During their session, held via video conferencing at Shukla's hometown Lucknow and the Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre, students peppered Shukla with questions about life aboard the ISS.
Discussing the challenges and excitement of space travel, Shukla described the dynamic experience of launching from the Kennedy Space Centre on June 25. Inside the ISS, he explained how astronauts adapt to microgravity, sleep arrangements, and necessary precautions for illness, captivating students with tales of sleeping 'on the walls' and exercising in unique ways without gravitational pull.
Part of the ISRO Vidyarthi Samvad Programme, the interaction aimed to inspire students, emphasizing the future possibilities in aerospace science. Shukla, alongside Group Captain Angad Pratap, shared insights on India's upcoming Gaganyaan mission, encouraging students to pursue careers in space exploration.
