Tragedy on the Kanwar Yatra: Kanwariya Killed in Highway Accident

A kanwariya lost his life in a tragic accident on the Delhi-Dehradun National Highway, police reported. The victim, Hansraj, was struck by an unidentified vehicle near Khatauli while returning from Haridwar.
The incident occurred on Tuesday, according to Circle Officer Ramashish Yadav, who confirmed that Hansraj's body was sent for a post-mortem examination. The Kanwar Yatra has been marked by several mishaps, with 68 kanwariyas suffering injuries across the district.
District hospital sources disclosed that 30 injured were admitted to the local hospital, with others receiving treatment at nearby health centers. Despite minor injuries, many resumed their pilgrimage, but those with severe wounds required extended medical care.
