Across the region, Shiva temples witnessed throngs of devotees offering prayers on the occasion of Sawan Shivratri, which marked the conclusion of the month of Sawan on Wednesday.

According to Vishwa Bhushan Mishra, CEO of the Kashi Vishwanath Temple in Varanasi, a large number of worshippers gathered since morning, with flowers adorning the devotees. Police Commissioner Mohit Agarwal confirmed that special surveillance, including CCTV cameras and drones, is in place to maintain law and order.

The ancient Kartikeya Mahadev Temple in Sambhal, which reopened earlier this year after 46 years, also saw a substantial gathering of devotees. Sub Divisional Magistrate Vikas Chandra performed 'jalabhishek' and noted efforts to rejuvenate Sambhal's historic identity. Devotees like Deepak Kumar expressed gratitude for the chance to participate in the spiritual rituals at the historic site.
