Shiva temples across the region witnessed a surge in devotees on Sawan Shivratri, coinciding with the Kanwar Yatra's end on Wednesday. These worshippers partook in prayers and offerings, enlivening the spiritual atmosphere.

Vishwa Bhushan Mishra, the CEO of the Kashi Vishwanath Temple in Varanasi, stated that the temple has been bustling with activity since dawn. 'Flowers are being showered on the worshippers,' he explained, adding a colorful touch to the festivities.

The security protocol saw an enhancement with Police Commissioner Mohit Agarwal implementing 'special surveillance' via CCTV cameras and drones to maintain peace and order. Meanwhile, in Sambhal, the historic Kartikeya Mahadev Temple, which reopened after 46 years, attracted numerous devotees. Sub Divisional Magistrate Vikas Chandra participated in 'jalabhishek', symbolizing the temple's rejuvenated status and promising a revival of its lost identity.
