President Murmu's Artistic Encounter: Celebrating Traditions at Kala Utsav

President Droupadi Murmu engaged with artists from Jharkhand, Odisha, and West Bengal during a recent meeting at Rashtrapati Bhavan. The artists were participants in the second edition of Kala Utsav 2025, part of the 'Artists in Residence Programme'.

The ten-day residency allowed 29 Sohrai, Pattachitra, and Patua artists to showcase their rich artistic traditions, reaffirming the significance of these practices in maintaining India's cultural identity. The programme is a celebration of living art traditions and their impact on future creators.

The President attended an exhibition featuring artworks produced during the programme and lauded the artists for their dedication to preserving traditional art forms. She encouraged them to continue their invaluable contributions to India's art heritage.
