An Austrian court has handed down a two-year prison sentence to an 18-year-old, identified as Luca K, on terrorism charges unrelated to a foiled plot aimed at Taylor Swift concerts in Vienna. The charges stem from his connections with a terrorist group and glorifying violent acts.

The Wiener Neustadt state court charged Luca K, who admitted to spreading Islamic State propaganda and supporting a sympathizer responsible for a 2020 Vienna attack. Despite these charges, Luca K was not involved in plotting against Swift's concerts last August, though his arrest took place shortly before the event.

Defence lawyer Michael Dorn clarified that his client had minimal ties with Beran A, the primary suspect still under investigation. Luca K, who adopted Islam in 2022, acknowledged his mistakes, highlighting his newfound perspective as a father. His time in custody will count towards the sentence, and the verdict is subject to appeal.
