Odisha has secured 33 investment proposals valued at Rs 7,808 crore in the textiles sector, highlighted during a recently held conclave focused on the apparel industry. Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi inaugurated the event known as O-TEX and launched two new textile and footwear parks in Jagatsinghpur and Bhadrak, signaling a significant boost to the state's textile ambitions.

The event was attended by over 160 corporate entities including major brands like Page Industries, KPR Mills, and Sportking. Majhi revealed that these investments are projected to create approximately 53,300 jobs. Emphasizing the region's textile heritage, he noted Odisha's commitment to revitalizing its traditional materials while planning substantial job creation and infrastructure development over the next decade.

Highlighting Odisha as an investment hub, Majhi stated that 40 percent of the nation's domestic investment influx this year has targeted the state. The Odisha Technical Textile & Apparel Policy 2022 will see increased employment cost subsidies to enhance workforce involvement. Assuring full support to investors, a task force will bolster industrial growth, leveraging state-of-the-art infrastructure and progressive policies.
