Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi on Monday to provide updates on the state's advancements in socio-economic indicators and the implementation of welfare schemes.
During his visit to the capital, Sarma also conferred with Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and Minister of Coal and Mines G Kishan Reddy. He extended an invitation to Sitharaman to lay the foundation for the Kanaklata Barua University, which aims to focus on industry-oriented education.
Meanwhile, the Prime Minister's upcoming visit to Assam is set to inaugurate a bio-ethanol plant, marking significant strides in the state's development journey. Additionally, discussions with Minister Reddy focused on enhancing Coal India's operations in Tinsukia district. The CM's meetings highlighted Assam's socio-economic progress and future projects.
