Haryana is on track to transform the picturesque Kalka to Kalesar stretch into a thriving tourism hub, according to Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini. Speaking at the state-level Van Mahotsav held at Kalesar, Saini emphasized the urgent need for environmental conservation.
The Chief Minister underlined the essence of Van Mahotsav as a tribute to nature, advocating for sustainable development over rampant exploitation. He highlighted efforts to increase forest cover, including the successful plantation of over 1.87 crore saplings and ongoing initiatives for further urban forestry development.
The Haryana government is intensifying actions against illegal tree felling and enhancing wildlife protection measures. Special directives have been issued to ensure active participation from the Forest Department in these green campaigns, as part of a larger mission to promote eco-friendly development statewide.
