On Monday, more than 9,000 pilgrims visited the revered Amarnath cave shrine dedicated to Lord Shiva in the South Kashmir Himalayas. This brought the total number of visitors since the yatra commenced on July 3 to nearly 386,000, according to official reports.
The day's visitors consisted of a diverse group: 6,598 males, 1,702 females, one transgender individual, 93 children, 51 sadhus, three sadhvis, and 670 security forces personnel.
This annual pilgrimage continues to attract devotees from across the globe, underscoring the enduring cultural and religious significance of the Amarnath Yatra in the spiritual landscape of India.
