A pioneering terrace garden initiative in Thane, Maharashtra is receiving accolades, with district collector Ashok Shingare encouraging other government branches to emulate the project.

On Monday, Ashok Shingare inspected the project at the Thane District Information Office, initially launched in April. Environmentalist Vijaykumar Katti led the initiative, with guidance from District Information Officer Manoj Shivaji Sanap and support from Aasara Foundation.

Shingare praised the groundbreaking project, noting its potential to beautify and benefit the environment if adopted elsewhere. Plans to expand this model to schools, colleges, and businesses are underway, in collaboration with organizations such as Rotary and Lions Clubs.
