On Tuesday, Arunachal Pradesh's Information and Public Relations Minister Nyato Dukam called upon the media to play an essential role in the state's development by spotlighting welfare programs, especially in its remote regions. Speaking at the 13th Foundation Day of the Arunachal Electronic and Digital Media Association (AEDMA), he highlighted the media's influence in not just reporting news but also shaping public opinion and strengthening democracy.
Dukam emphasized that while the government endeavors to implement inclusive development policies, the media bears the responsibility of disseminating accurate information about these initiatives statewide. He also reiterated the state government's dedication to supporting the media fraternity's growth and assured continuous aid from the IPR department.
The minister praised AEDMA's contributions towards advancing digital journalism and encouraging discussions on media reforms. At the event, AEDMA president J T Tagam expressed gratitude for the implementation of the much-awaited Electronic Media Advertisement Policy, 2020, by the department.
