Ace filmmaker Shekhar Kapur is exploring new creative horizons with his latest sci-fi venture 'Warlord', a series entirely created using artificial intelligence. The teaser, unveiled on Tuesday, depicts a plot centered around warriors protecting mystical crystals that fuel an entire galaxy. These crystals, Kapur explains, are unique particles that last for only an incredibly brief blink of time, forming the very fabric of the universe.

Authored and directed by Kapur himself, the storyline features an interdimensional warrior who escapes peril with the aid of a lover residing in another dimension. 'The only opportunity for the lover to bring him to her is at the brink of death,' Kapur describes. 'The sword may strike, and he appears doomed, yet he vanishes into another dimension.'

Kapur's ambitions extend beyond the storytelling. The series will act as a 'rainforest of ideas', offering its characters and production designs to creators for a nominal fee, with the condition their adaptations remain open-source. In partnership with the AI-driven Studio Blo, a company with roots in Mumbai and offices globally, Kapur aims to redefine production paradigms, as exemplified by the quick transition of elaborate sequences from months to mere weeks.

Kartik Shah composes the score for 'Warlord', marking a notable shift from conventional filmmaking. Kapur suggests AI will dismantle big studios' dominance and traditional budget myths, drawing a parallel to how Napster transformed the music industry. Highlighting innovative design, Kapur envisions spaceships in 'Warlord' as organic, jellyfish-inspired vessels capable of self-healing, harnessing cosmic winds through space.

The universe of 'Warlord' is slated to grow into films and games. Moreover, Kapur plans to establish an AI-centric film school in Mumbai's Dharavi, hinting at a sustainable future where technology revolutionizes storytelling.
