Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel, in a public address, stressed the significant role Anganwadi centres play in fostering the early development of children.
Highlighting maternal influence, she remarked that a child's development begins at home under a mother's guidance. Patel warned that neglecting nutrition during pregnancy could hinder a child's health, urging a farmer-like dedication to child care. She also acknowledged that a nutritious diet can counter the presence of viruses from birth.
Patel referenced Prime Minister Narendra Modi's campaign to eradicate TB in India, noting the successful treatment of over four lakh TB patients in Uttar Pradesh alone. She applauded young Anganwadi children for their stage performances and distributed 100 Anganwadi resource kits, Ayushman cards, nutrition kits for TB patients, and certificates to beneficiaries under various government schemes.
