Renowned Malayalam rapper Vedan, also known as Hirandas Murali, is embroiled in legal trouble following serious allegations of sexual assault. A lady doctor filed a complaint accusing Vedan of sexually assaulting her multiple times between 2021 and 2023, leading the police to lodge a case under section 376 IPC at Thrikkakara police station late Wednesday, according to authorities.
The rapper, who has a history of legal entanglements, was previously arrested and later released on bail in April in connection with a drug-related case. Additionally, the Forest Department arrested him for possessing a leopard tooth, resulting in another bail release.
Adding to his legal woes, Vedan faced accusations from a BJP leader earlier this year, who claimed that the rapper's music defamed Prime Minister Narendra Modi and incited caste-based divisions.
