Jeremy Strong, renowned for his role in ''Succession,'' is in discussions to portray Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg in the upcoming film, ''The Social Network Part II.'' While no formal offer has been made, Strong is reportedly the leading choice for the role, according to Deadline.
The film, written and directed by Aaron Sorkin, will also feature Jeremy Allen White and Mikey Madison. Described as a follow-up rather than a direct sequel to the 2010 film ''The Social Network,'' the project will delve into the story presented in the Wall Street Journal's ''The Facebook Files,'' which revealed troubling aspects of the social media giant.
Produced by Todd Black, Peter Rice, Sorkin, and Stuart Besser, the new film revisits the challenges Zuckerberg faced, as covered in David Fincher's original movie. Jesse Eisenberg, who played Zuckerberg in the first installment, earned an Oscar nomination for his performance, contributing to the film's eight nominations and three wins.
