PM Modi to Mark Bhupen Hazarika's Centenary with Assam Visit
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to visit Assam on September 8 for the inauguration of Bhupen Hazarika's birth centenary celebrations. Besides the cultural event, the PM will inaugurate a bio-ethanol plant, a new bridge, and lay the foundation for a medical college, enhancing Assam's infrastructure.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit Assam on September 8 to inaugurate the year-long birth centenary celebrations of Bhupen Hazarika, announced Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma. This much-anticipated visit will also see the inauguration of several key infrastructure projects across the state.
The Prime Minister's itinerary includes visiting Numaligarh Refinery Limited in Golaghat, where he will dedicate a newly constructed bio-ethanol plant to the nation. This significant project, setting up at a cost of Rs 4,200 crore, marks a major milestone in enhancing Assam's energy resources.
Furthermore, Modi will travel to Mangaldoi to inaugurate the Guwahati-Ring Road and a new bridge over the Brahmaputra River. In addition, he will lay the foundation stone for the Mangaldoi Medical College Hospital. In Guwahati, the birth centenary celebrations of the cultural icon Bhupen Hazarika will culminate his visit, with a special event organized by the state government.
