On Friday, TTD chairman B R Naidu held a meeting with Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma in Guwahati to discuss the establishment of a Lord Venkateswara temple in the city. The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) official sought an allocation of five acres for this project.
The proposed temple aims to promote Hindu religion and culture throughout Northeast India. According to an official release, Sarma wholeheartedly supported the initiative, promising to allocate the requested land for what he described as a 'magnificent temple' in the heart of Guwahati.
Chief Minister Sarma thanked Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and the TTD for spearheading the project. He expressed optimism that the Srivari temple would augment the spiritual importance of the region, complementing the famed Kamakhya Devi temple. The meeting was organized by Akhil Bharat Hindu Mahasabha's G V R Shastri.
