Bollywood actor Kartik Aaryan officially denied involvement in an Independence Day event in Houston, USA, allegedly linked to a Pakistani-owned entity. This follows concerns raised by the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) regarding the event's ties to Pakistan after the Pahalgam terror attack on April 22.
In a statement released on Saturday, Aaryan's team clarified the actor's non-association with the event, stating that he had made no official announcement about participating. The team communicated with the event organizers, requesting the removal of all promotional materials featuring Aaryan's name and image.
FWICE had previously issued a letter to Aaryan, emphasizing the directive for Indian film industry members to boycott Pakistani artists due to ongoing terror threats. FWICE President BN Tiwari expressed concerns over the show, scheduled for August 15, citing the involvement of a Pakistani national as its organizer. Despite multiple contact attempts by FWICE General Secretary Ashoke Dubey, Aaryan's team remained unresponsive until the official statement.
