The Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) took a firm stand on Monday against Rajya Sabha MP Kamal Haasan following his controversial comments on 'Sanatan'. The organization accused Haasan of pursuing an agenda to tarnish the reputation of Hindu society.
Haasan, an actor and leader of the Makkal Needhi Maiam (MNM), ignited a political debate by suggesting that education serves as a weapon capable of dismantling autocracy and Sanatan Dharma. This statement drew criticism from various quarters, including VHP national secretary general Surendra Jain.
Jain dismissed the notion that Haasan was naive, suggesting instead that his actions were deliberate. He also criticized NCP (SP) leader Jitendra Ahwad for remarks attributed to him about Sanatan, expressing concern over what he perceives as their shared mindset. Jain emphasized Sanatan Dharma's role in connecting individuals through love and mutual respect.
