In a recent ruling, a New York federal judge has denied bail for rapper Sean 'Diddy' Combs, citing a lack of 'exceptional reasons' necessary for his release prior to his sentencing date set for October 3, 2025. Combs, the founder of Bad Boy Records, was convicted of transporting to engage in prostitution.

The court, led by Judge Arun Subramanian, challenged Diddy's legal team to present 'clear and convincing' evidence that would assure the judge of Combs' commitment not to flee or pose any danger to the community, including his alleged victims and witnesses. The judge articulated concerns regarding Diddy's potential 'flight or danger' risk.

Subramanian outlined conditions for release, pointing to 'exceptional reasons' only applicable if the defendant demonstrated no risk of flight or danger, alongside distinctive circumstances like advanced age or serious medical conditions. Despite defense submissions, including a 62-page letter, the judge remained firm, dismissing Diddy's bail request. The rapper faces a possible 20-year prison sentence following additional legal troubles.
