A somber atmosphere enveloped Nemra on Tuesday as crowds gathered in Jharkhand's Ramgarh district to bid farewell to former Chief Minister Shibu Soren, affectionately called 'Dishom Guru.'
The JMM co-founder passed away on Monday in a Delhi hospital due to kidney ailments at the age of 81. High-profile leaders, including President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, paid their respects in the national capital.
Long queues formed along the path to Nemra, as people paid tribute. Shops in Ranchi remained closed, marking respect for the leader whose funeral will conclude with full state honors amid special traffic arrangements for the attending dignitaries.
