Actor Vijay Deverakonda appeared before the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Wednesday, amidst an ongoing investigation into a money laundering case tied to illegal online betting and gambling platforms.
The 'Liger' star was questioned at the central agency's zonal office, joining a roster of celebrities embroiled in the scandal, including Prakash Raj, who has also been called to answer questions regarding the allegations.
The ED, invoking the Prevention of Money Laundering Act, aims to uncover the connection between these actors and the suspected generation of illicit funds through endorsements of online betting apps, valued in crores of rupees.
