Mars, Incorporated, a renowned global leader in pet care products and services, in collaboration with Instamart, India's leading quick-commerce platform, is extending their joint initiative, PAW PROTECC, aimed at safeguarding homeless pets.
The initiative focuses on creating mobile shelters designed specifically for community dogs and cats during severe weather conditions, notably monsoon rains. The project, which initially began in Delhi, Mumbai, and Bangalore, has now expanded to include Chennai and Hyderabad, bringing the total number of shelters to over 700 across India.
The shelters offer safe, dry, and shaded spaces for homeless pets, protecting them from the harsh monsoon and winter weather. This joint effort, supported by local NGOs, feeder networks, and citizens, has sparked a movement showcasing compassion and community solidarity in providing for India's large homeless pet population.
