Prime Minister Narendra Modi firmly reiterated India's unwavering commitment to its farmers at a global conference celebrating the centenary of M S Swaminathan, a pivotal figure in Indian agriculture.

Amid heightening trade tensions with the U.S., Modi assured that India will not compromise the interests of its farmers, fishermen, and dairy farmers, even as the U.S. has announced higher tariffs on Indian goods.

Highlighting Swaminathan's transformative contributions, Modi released a commemorative coin and stamp in honor of the scientist, affectionately known as the 'father of the Green Revolution' for his role in enhancing food production and reducing poverty in India.
