On National Handloom Day, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu committed to bolstering the state's handloom and weaving sector through various strategic measures.
Naidu pledged to provide 200 units of free electricity to handloom units and 500 units to power loom units, benefiting approximately 143,000 families. He also guaranteed a five percent GST reimbursement, aiming to support the weavers financially.
The state government plans to employ digital platforms to enhance market outreach for handloom products, with collaborations from industrial giants like Tata Group. Naidu emphasized preserving the cultural heritage while striving to double weavers' income through innovative initiatives.
