Union Textiles Minister Giriraj Singh highlighted the need to connect India's 797 handloom clusters with entrepreneurs, aiming to expand their market reach both locally and internationally. This initiative, announced on National Handloom Day, seeks to enhance artisans' incomes significantly.

Singh revealed that 100 handloom and handicraft artisans have been integrated into an e-platform to broaden their global presence. He expressed hopes to eventually involve lakhs of workers, with a target to boost their annual earnings to between Rs 8-10 lakh as directed by Prime Minister Modi.

Emphasizing the protection of indigenous designs, Singh announced plans to incorporate Artificial Intelligence and Blockchain technology to prevent design theft, which is a growing concern. He also proposed launching a startup program to innovate handloom technology and increase production.
