Renowned filmmaker Michael Bay has withdrawn from directing the Netflix film 'Fast and Loose', citing creative differences with lead actor Will Smith. This development interrupts their anticipated collaboration following their work on the 'Bad Boys' franchise.
'Fast and Loose', penned by Jon Hoeber, Erich Hoeber, Chris Bremner, and Eric Pearson, explores the tangled identities of a man caught between being a crime kingpin and a CIA agent. The story unfolds as he awakens in Tijuana without memories and strives to piece together his past.
Leitch and Kelly McCormick will produce the film for 87North, joined by Smith, while Robert Simonds and Noah Fogelson serve as executive producers for STXfilms. The streaming platform plans to begin production in 2026, currently seeking another director to helm the project.
