The birth anniversary of Lord Krishna, marking its 5,252nd celebration, is all set to bring a massive influx of devotees to Mathura's famous temples, including the Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi and the Thakur Bankey Bihari temple in Vrindavan. The district anticipates a record five million visitors, significantly more than last year.

Authorities have ramped up security with over 150 surveillance cameras installed around key sites and the debut use of AI-enabled drone cameras. Civic improvements are underway to ensure an efficient pilgrimage experience in areas such as Mathura, Vrindavan, Barsana, and Govardhan. Enhanced police presence will provide additional safety.

The Uttar Pradesh Braj Teerth Vikas Parishad is orchestrating 'Shri Krishnotsav,' a three-day affair beginning August 15. The festivities include a grand procession showcasing folk art and performances from across the region. Devotees are cautioned regarding crowd management, and are advised to consider the vulnerable before visiting.
