West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee marked the death anniversary of revolutionary Khudiram Bose by criticizing the Hindi film 'Kesari Chapter 2' for allegedly misrepresenting Bengali freedom fighters. She condemned the film's portrayal of Khudiram Bose as 'Khudiram Singh' and Barindra Kumar Ghosh as 'Birendra Kumar', inaccurately depicting them from Punjab.

An FIR has been registered against the film's producers for historical inaccuracies, emphasizing the misuse of facts related to Bengal's freedom fighters. Khudiram Bose, who was executed at 18 for his role in the Muzaffarpur bomb case, is remembered as a symbol of patriotism and sacrifice.

The state government, led by Banerjee, has undertaken initiatives to honor Bose's legacy by developing his birthplace, Mahabani, with infrastructure improvements including a statue, a library, and a metro station named after him in Kolkata, demonstrating their commitment to preserving his memory.
