Lakshmipriya Devi's 'Boong' Shines at Indian Film Festival of Melbourne 2025

'Boong', the debut venture of Lakshmipriya Devi, is generating excitement as the Spotlight Film at the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne (IFFM) 2025. Supported by industry stalwarts Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani's Excel Entertainment, the film will feature its Victorian premiere.

The Manipur-based drama stars Gugun Kipgen and Bala Hijam, promising a narrative both bold and deeply intimate. Devi, who has an impressive background as a first assistant director on projects like 'Luck by Chance' and 'PK', showcases her directorial prowess in 'Boong'.

Festival Director Mitu Bhowmick Lange expressed pride in presenting 'Boong' as this year's Spotlight Film, highlighting its global resonance. The IFFM 2025 is scheduled for August 14 to 24, promising a robust itinerary of screenings, panels, and awards.
