In a significant ceremony, Arunachal Pradesh Governor Lt Gen K T Parnaik (Retd) honored Col R S Jamwal, Director of the National Institute of Mountaineering and Adventure Sports (NIMAS), with the 'Governor's Medallion for Excellence'. This accolade recognizes Jamwal's leadership in two major expeditions.
Located in Dirang, the institute recently concluded ambitious endeavors—the Brahmaputra River rafting expedition and the ascent of Mount Kanchenjunga, both of which are viewed as landmark achievements in adventure sports.
Highlighting the potential impact, Governor Parnaik encouraged NIMAS to engage more local youth in such feats. Himyan emphasized the need for exposure and training to help Arunachal's youth achieve new heights in adventure sports, both nationally and internationally.
